Stirling Dynamics is recruiting an IT Technician to join the team.

 

The IT Technician will be a member of the Support Services team, reporting to the Senior IT & InfoSec Manager. The successful candidate will spend approximately 90% of their time dedicated to 1st/2nd line IT support for the business, with the remaining 10% dedicated to business administrative/improvement activities.

 

This is an interesting and dynamic role, playing a key part in providing and supporting the services required for the project teams to deliver innovative and exciting projects across key sectors such as Aerospace, Defence and Aviation.

 

Some "on the job” and formal training will be provided.


You will need to have UK nationality and the ability to achieve and maintain UK Security Clearance is a mandatory pre-requisite for this role.


This role will be based in our Bristol office supporting staff in the UK and abroad, with a minimum of 3 working days in the office.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will be expected to be developed and finalised over time and will include but will not be restricted to:

  • Supporting people whenever they encounter challenges with computers, software, mobile and network devices
  • Building / imaging IT equipment and mobile devices for new starters and changing user requirements
  • Installing, configuring and maintaining software and hardware components of computer and network systems
  • Recording and updating all IT requests and incidents accurately and thoroughly through the company’s IT Service Management system
  • Working with the team to support and carry out project work and new office installations / office moves
  • Support the business management teams with administration and business improvement tasks, such as finding efficiencies and automation

Qualifications

  • Computer/IT related qualification(s) e.g. CompTIA A+/N+, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals
  • Fully licensed driver preferable but not essential

Essential skills

  • A good understanding of Microsoft 365 with ability to support and help users with the M365 tool set
  • Excellent interpersonal skills enabling good verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work both as a part of a team and independently using your own initiative
  • Professional attitude and able to demonstrate care and attention to detail whilst being polite and helpful with stakeholders
  • Strong time management and organisation skills with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks
  • Drive and willingness to learn
  • Understand the importance of confidentiality

Experience

  • Previous experience in an IT orientated environment is essential
  • Experience working within a customer facing IT support role
  • Experience of working with ITIL, aligned with ITSM software/ticketing
  • Experience in building/imaging laptops & desktops, preparing mobile devices, printers, audio conferencing equipment etc
  • Basic understanding on Linux preferred
  • Basic knowledge of cyber security principles and practices preferred but not essential
  • Interest in process scripting and automation preferred but not essential

Benefits

Competitive Package - Grade 2 - 3, £25,000 - £35,000 dependent on experience.
