Stirling Dynamics is recruiting a Verification Engineer to join the Software & Electronics Hardware team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to expand your career by leading key electrical\electronics product development work packages and sub teams as part of the wider Software & Electronics team and help drive Stirling’s product development strategy.

 

Stirling Dynamics develops electro-mechanical and mechatronic systems as well as electronic hardware for the Aerospace and Training and Simulation markets. Due to company growth, we are looking for an enthusiastic candidate that has experience in electronic system architecture design and skill sets covering verification activities. The primary focus of the role will be to support the design and verification of our electric controller products for Training and Simulation and Aerospace markets.

 

Stirling has developed cutting-edge internal processes for airborne electronic hardware development using Model Based Design practices and toolsets such as Speedgoat (preferred), LabVIEW, Polarion/DOORs and MATLAB/Simulink. If you have experience any of these areas, we would love to hear from.

 

This role will be predominantly based in the Stirling Dynamics Bristol office with occasional travel to our clients’ sites as required.

 

The ideal candidate will hold UK citizenship.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for planning, executing, and documenting hardware verification activities for airborne electronic hardware development
  • Defining the validation & verification strategy of electronic controllers for electromechanical aerospace systems
  • Work in conjunction with the verification leader, project delivery manager and other technical disciplines (systems, electronic hardware, safety, mech, simulation etc.)
  • Provide technical and engineering know-how to deliver projects which require design assurance practices (e.g. DO-254 preferred, DO-178, ARP 4754)

Qualifications

Engineering Degree - ideally with an electronics bias, or relevant experience

Experience

  • Demonstrable experience in product verification experience on (aerospace/marine/space/nuclear/automotive) projects using Speedgoat(preferred), Beckhoff or LabView
  • Deriving and specifying hardware requirements is a plus
  • Understanding of power electronics, communication electronics and motor drive design using FPGA based systems
  • Applied knowledge of environmental qualification (e.g. DO-160G)

Competitive Package - Grade 3-5 (£35,000 - £57,000) depending on experience.
