  Stirling Dynamics is recruiting for a Principal Modelling and Simulation Engineer to join the Simulation, Dynamics and Control capability group.   Due to upcoming projects and continued growth, Stirling Dynamics are looking for a talented and experienced Principal Modelling and Simulation Engineer to permanently join our expanding team.    The Simulation, Dynamics and Control capability provides expertise to both internal and external customers in all areas of analysis including:  - Control - System performance - Equipment modelling - Vehicle dynamics - Fluid dynamics - Dynamic loads - Aeroelastics - Vibration Modelling, simulation, dynamics, and control has always been at the core of Stirling Dynamics' capabilities, and we have been at the fore front of developing modelling techniques and model-based design activities for over 30 years. Modelling has never been more important for engineering design, with requirements for reverse engineering, root cause analysis, real time models and support for the development of traditional aerospace platforms to the emerging field of eVTOL and urban air mobility, and future generations of aircraft and marine vehicles that heavily rely on modelling to explore the new operating scenarios, radical systems, new technologies and accelerated design life cycles.   Within this role you will have the opportunity to work with other like-minded engineers across our Marine, Aerospace, eVTOL and Cockpit Controls business areas, and support the further development and growth of the business. We work across all Stirling business units across a wide variety of projects from significant modifications on civil and military aircraft; development projects for large aerospace OEMs; concepts and feasibility studies for the emerging eVTOL industry; controller actuation development for simulator and flight worthy products and control and automation covering submarine autopilots and flight control laws.   The successful engineer will work within a team responsible for the development of models at vehicle level, system level and equipment level. The role covers all aspects of model-based design, from concept/trade studies, through model requirements capture, the support of requirements verification, design activities, model validation, support to test, in service support and root cause analysis. As a principal engineer you will offer technical leadership on projects including task definition, and act in a supervisory support to more junior members of the team. This role will be predominantly based in our Bristol office with occasional travel to our clients’ sites as required. As part of our commitment to flexibility, we also accept hybrid working.

  Stirling Dynamics is recruiting a Test Lead to join the Cockpit Controls team.   Stirling Dynamics design, develop and produce a wide range of high-end aircraft simulator ‘inceptors’ (pilot – machine interface devices). Stirling’s family of active controls are feature-rich, highly reconfigurable and suitable for single or dual (linked) aircraft cockpit configurations. Our range of active products includes; side sticks, throttles, collectives, cyclics, tillers and pedals. These controls are extremely compact, fully active and benefit from low-acquisition and through-life costs.   We have pioneered active control technology since the early 1990s and are proud to hold many industry and technology firsts, which includes supplying the controls for the first ever, fully-active fly-by-wire helicopter flight. Today, we supply the active stick and throttles for the new F-35 pilot training simulators and continue to break new ground in cockpit control technology. The ‘Cockpit Control’ sector of the business that delivers the inceptor products, has a requirement for a Test Lead within the Production Department. The products comprise of electrical, electronic and mechanical subassemblies and therefore the role would involve tasks such as:   - Goods-in testing/fault finding of PCBs - Development, First Article and Acceptance testing of the company products (equipment and system level) - Interpreting and accurately recording test results - Support the delivery and management of products through test (throughput/capacity planning) - Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, electrical schematics and instructions - Act as a stakeholder in the definition of requirements for PCBs, products and any associated test equipment/facilities - Manage the test equipment asset inventory including; tracking, maintenance and purchasing of new equipment - Writing test procedures for build-to-print and development products - From a test perspective, reviewing conceptual designs and providing feedback - Undertaking failure analysis investigations and producing non-conformance reports - Line management of test personnel Health & safety responsibility for test team

  Stirling Dynamics is recruiting a Key Account Manager to join the Aerospace team.   With annual revenue in excess of £10m and ambitious plans for growth, Stirling Dynamics is looking to recruit a Key Account Manager with experience in the aerospace sector to support the Aerospace Business Unit account management and business development activities in both our established markets worldwide. The successful candidate will ideally have demonstrable account management and business development skills with a positive and proactive approach to business development; they will need to be able to identify client needs in advance of the formal tendering process, develop sales campaigns, and support the construction of compelling proposals. Applicants must have a strong client relationship and business development mind-set. It will be advantageous for the successful candidate to have existing knowledge of the aerospace market to support Stirling Dynamics’ rapidly growing business.   Due to the nature of the projects that we are involved in, candidates must be eligible to obtain UK security clearance (SC).   Stirling Dynamics has a geographically diverse customer base and as such the candidate will be required to travel nationally and internationally.   Stirling Dynamics is recruiting Systems Engineers with landing gear related experience to be based in Munich.   Stirling Dynamics are looking for talented Senior Systems Engineers with a minimum of 5 years of landing gear related experience to support a major project in Germany. The contract (either fixed-term or contract) is expected to last until Q4 2024 although there is the possibility for further work after this date. The successful candidates will need to be based in Munich, Germany and so they should ideally have the right to work in Germany already but we may be able to support a visa if required.   The contract can be managed as outside IR35, but we can also consider inside IR35 or fixed term contract.
